Pumpkins everywhere...

Connor and I had fun at the pumpkin patch.  There's something about picking out one, or two....or three pumpkins to take home, (you can never really just choose one huh??)  This year they had a maze set up, so Connor really didn't want to "hang" with me for boring pictures...he wanted to play in the maze, and could've stayed all day if you would've let him.   It's fun to go with him and I hope there's more years of him wanting to pick pumpkins with me too.  I'm still hoping that Courtney will want to come with us again...we miss her, (Facebook is more important!).  :)

I know I've been a bad blogger lately and haven't posted anything recently...but I do swear that I HAVE been working on a layout...seriously...I have, and I'll try to finish that up by Saturday.  Have a wonderful week everyone!!  :)

 
 

Tricks & Treats....

Oh the weather outside is frightful...and I'm speaking about the relentless heat wave we have going on here in South Florida which if you can believe is still hitting triple-digits in the middle of October.  I seem to have to keep reminding myself that it is Fall, and we're being promised a colder-than-normal winter this year, (ha...we'll just see), but it sure doesn't feel like it.  This weather has kept me indoors and thankfully Fall has inspired me to create.  Can you believe that Halloween is really right around the corner?  Pumpkins are everywhere down here now, Connor's costume has been ordered, and my home smells like apples & cinnamon, (my favorite).  I had a bunch of these papers left over from My Mind's Eye from the last round of Halloween cards that I did, so decided I needed to finish them up.  This time around, I made some Halloween ornaments, a card and gift bag.  Hope you enjoy, and I'd really appreciate it if someone would kindly send me "real" Fall weather...cause this is getting pretty old.  :)

Oh and I want to say thankyou so very much for all the sweet comments you all have left me.  Seriously folks, I just love to create and share and have never really thought of teaching classes at ScrapFest...heck, I've never even been to that show.  :)  Hopefully one year I can actually make it there because I'd love to meet all of you too.  I hope you all have a wonderful afternoon, and thanks so much for stopping by.  :)

 

Pumpkin Trio...

Pumpkins are finally starting to appear!  Yeah!  I love the sightings of the first pumpkins, don't you?  Makes me realize that yes...even though we don't feel it, and we don't have trees that turn a golden yellow, Fall really is here and it's the official start and welcome of the Holiday Season.  I found those adorable baby pumpkins at our store a couple of days ago and I was waiting ever so patiently for them, because I had a project in mind.  Once again, this project, I cannot take credit for...it's from an old "Gooseberry Patch" idea book that I've had for years.  I was flipping through it not too long ago and found this adorable "Trio of Pumpkins" and I wanted to make it so bad.  :)  My husband made the wooden planter for me which I then painted and crackle finished, and I collected twigs and had all my supplies ready, I was just waiting for the baby pumpkins to arrive and when they finally did, I was so excited to sit down and make this.  If you do decide to make something like this, remember it won't last forever since these are "live" pumpkins, but you can also use fake, it's up to you.  This now sits in my kitchen window and I hope it lasts till Halloween!!  I think it turn out so sweet and I hope you enjoy!

Pumpkinhead....

Hey everyone...first off, thanks so much for stopping by today and for being so patient with me.  I just finished a work week that included 2, back-to-back 48 hour shifts.  Basically the only day I had off was Wednesday and was too exhausted to even update my blog.  So I really appreciate you all being so patient.  Secondly, I could hardly wait to get home this morning to upload Mr. Pumpkinhead!  I happened to stumble upon Linda Albrecht's, blog the other day and fell head-over-heels in LOVE with her Pumpkinhead project and I just HAD to sit down and try to re-create one these.  The end result...what a fun, fun, fun Halloween project and I just adore it.  So even though I cannot take the credit for this project, I just had to show it to you anyways.  The metal container I used initially was an ugly green color, but it had such a pretty scalloped rim,  so I decided to spray it black.  When spraying metal, make sure you prime it first, then use a paint specifically made for metal, like Krylon.  It dries in less than 10 minutes which is great for girls like me who don't have the time to watch it dry.  Then I just decopaged the polka dot paper to the container, and filled it with Mr. Pumpkinhead, glittered painted barn stars, and some Fall berry sprigs.   Enjoy!!!
