Let us never forget the countless lives lost in assuring our freedom. I really wonder at times why every home in America does not fly a flag today. I proudly fly my flag every day of the year, but add more to our home on this day. I'm proud to be an American! So today, as you celebrate the lives of every uniformed soldier, those who are living, and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, I hope your heart is filled with pride. Enjoy the day!

Remember when you were just 4 years old and your days were spent outside wearing pretty little dresses and riding old-blue tricycles? What a wonderful time childhood was, and it's hard to imagine that it was that long ago. I can't remember everything about my childhood, but these are some things that I can recall...swimming in the pool all day long, being picked on by my big brothers, our first puppy, (a Daschund named, Morgan), playing at my Grandmother's home, sledding down a hill in the wintertime, walking to school with my sister, and having a blast at it all! This photo is one of my mom's favorite, and I suppose I like it too. For my project at Creative Charms this month, I decided to make sort-of an altered frame using this clipboard from 7 Gypsies, I added papers from Webster's Pages, glimmer mist from Tattered Angels, and some oh-so-sweet knitted strawberries and Clear Pure Blossom's both from Creative Charms. I hope you enjoy.

Oh this week, I'm dreading...it will be one of the busiest weeks I've had in a VERY long time. Most of you know that I work for the Fire Department and we "normally" work 24 hrs on and 48 hrs off. Well for me this week, I have 3 back-to-back 48 hr shifts. I just got off one 48 hr shift this morning, I work again tomorrow and Tuesday, then again Thursday and Friday and again on Sunday. Come Monday morning, I'll have 12 days off, so I've gotta keep focused, and live up the little time I'll have at home this week to the fullest potential. Last night was hard, very hard...we were kept up all night long running calls, 1 Fire in a neighboring city that we had to respond to, (unfortunately the homeowner's doggie didn't survive), 1 heart attack, (which takes a lot out of us because it's a working "code" and we all our working our hardest doing everything we possibly can for that person), we also had 1 Chest Pain call and 1 Fire Alarm, all that starting at 11pm last night. So...we didn't sleep but maybe an hour. I'm exhausted and would give anything to lay down right now and sleep for the rest of the day, but I don't want to waste it. So...I'm posting some fun, happy projects that I made for Purple Onion Designs, this is using the "Birthday Noteblock" stamp and I used papers from Crate and some misc embellishments and my favorite silver tinsel from Melissa Frances. I hope you enjoy! I'm heading in my craft room now to work on more...gotta get my mind off of work, if even for a day. :)

I sooooo miss the whole feel of a baby. Now that my baby is 8 years old, he doesn't smell like a baby anymore, doesn't fit into all those adorably sweet baby clothes, nor can I just put him in a swing and lullaby him to sleep. So needless to say, I do wish for 1 more to cuddle and ooh and ahh over. But...a lot of my friends are having babies in the next few months, (I think there's something in the air), so this little baby set will go to one of them. I made this using the baby noteblock and bubble-ma-jig stamps from Purple Onion Designs and I really like how they turned out. I also used pattern paper from Crate and felted sheep from Martha Stewart.

Well, I'm spending the day at the pool today with my kids, then a late lunch at Bru's for the best grilled wings in the world, then the best homemade ice-cream at Kilwins and here comes my little one and I'm going to bet he's going to ask me when we can go. He's like that...always on the go, so I'm going to have to make this a pretty short post. Happy Mother's Day to all Mom's across the country, you deserve it! I have some projects to show, but can only do a sneak for you for now. :) Michele at Purple Onion Designs, asked me if I would like to continue designing for her company and of course I said YES!!! I love her stamps so it was a no-brainer for me. I just finished a set so I'm going to give you some sneaks till I know I can post the rest. Enjoy your day!

Can you believe we have a day dedicated to Scrapbooking? There are soooo many sites out there doing contests right now specifically designed around this day that it's almost crazy, (but in a really good way). Scrapbooking to me encompasses much more than throwing pictures down on pretty patterned paper. It's about style, patterns, colors, card-making, altering projects, using items you wouldn't normally use for a project and tossing in some of your own creativity. For me it's my calmness...sure, I get agitated when more projects go wrong then right, but it's another thing when you create something and your giddy with excitement at the finished product. It's about creating memories your family can hold on to for generations. Scrapbooking leaves your mark and lets others who may not really know you, develop a connection. It's about a love for a craft that will NEVER go out of style, (at least in my house).
Here's a project to kick off the month, using the sweetest embellishments on the market from Creative Charms. I used the Seasonal Medley, (Spring mixture), Sparkled Butterflies, Sparkled Flowers and Sequined Flowers, (in purple and light green). To make this wreath, first purchase a small twig wreath at your local craft store, then tie ribbons around it in about 5 places. Then hot glue on some moss, and get ready to load up on as many embellishments as you'd like. This is a really fun and EASY project for you to do.
