Shake, rattle and a blog hop...

Hey everyone!  First off...thanks so much for all those who participated in my Tea collection $100.00 giveaway!  It was a huge success and I know one person who was extremely excited to have won when it was all over!  :)  I'm sorry I couldn't have given more gift cards away, but hopefully in the future, I'll be able to host another one.  :)  

Now...thanks to Matthew Mead, (the guru of crafting and decorating), I have found yet another Halloween project to lift.  These are primitive shakers and they really do rattle and roll.  They were found in the new October special interest BH&G Halloween issue, and as soon as I saw them...I HAD to make them.  They were made using paper mache balls, acrylic paint, ribbon, and twigs that I found in my own backyard.  Once the paper mache balls were painted, I cut out a hole at the bottom and inserted a few dried kidney beans, then popped the twig through the hole and glued it in place.  They were sooooo much fun to make.  You know, every time the Holidays start to roll around, I find the sweetest project ideas in magazines that I just have to make.  Projects like this one just help me to expand and it's amazing what you can make just by following a few simple instructions.  I hope these inspire you try new things, because you may just amaze yourself.  And who says copying an idea can't be fullfilling?  (As long as you remember to give the person whose idea it was, all the credit).   Enjoy!

Becca-boo...

I have a little niece.  Her name is Rebekah.  And she is the sweetest, most adorable little 2 year old....ever!  :)  Of course I am partial, but how can you not fall in love with this little girl?  You may remember the photo on this layout, because it's one I showed you a few posts down.  I took this photo while in Vermont and she was sooooo sweet about letting me do just that.  :)  I love her and I hope you love this layout.  I used papers from The Girls' Paperie & My Mind's Eye, crochet trim from Melissa Frances, butterfly and heart doily punches from Martha Stewart and Stampin Up!, felt letters and buttons from Making Memories, alphabet ribbon from Creative Imaginations and pearls from Creative Charms.  Enjoy!
