Hi everyone! Is there anything better than Christmas and Sizzix? They go hand-and-hand like hot chocolate and marshmallows!! :) I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE crafting for Christmas, I seriously could create for the Holidays every day of the year and Sizzix makes it so simple! For those of you that don't know me, I love making ornaments, I always have. I'm forever looking for new ways to create vintage-y goodness for my Christmas tree and Sizzix has the perfect dies to create such projects. For the one I made below, I used "5" different dies and I'll show you how I made the base for my ornament. I hope you enjoy! :)
And be sure to scroll all the way down, the links to the other Designers projects are listed and you'll want to be sure to click on each one!! :)
and here are a couple of close ups...
some more detail...
Okay let me show you how I made the base for this ornament. From Sizzix you will need the following dies to make this....
Additional supplies needed: Chipboard, pattern paper, rusty metal snowflake, alphabet stamps, brown ink, distressing ink, silver tinsel, snow glitter, silver pipe cleaner, spray adhesive and hot glue.
Let's get started:
Using the scallop framelit squares, cut about 20 squares from old sheet music and set aside. Next cut the largest circle from you framelit circle collection, from chipboard, (this will be the base).
To make the mini cones....roll the 2 opposite edges together and secure with a little hot glue. That's it!! Super simple. Do the same for all the pieces.
Then it's as simple as hot gluing the mini-cones to the chipboard. Create the first layer by going all the way around, then with your extras, glue them on top of the first layer for added texture.
Your base is now complete. To finish, die cut a 3-D Star and adhere to the center. Then adhere a rusty snowflake to the center of the star, adhere some tinsel underneath, then diecut a snowflake rosette, spray with an adhesive and sprinkle with glitter and adhere to the center of the rusty snowflake.
Finally, diecut a tattered banner and stamp "Peace" to the center and adhere it to the center of the rosette.
Adhere silver pipe cleaner to the back of the ornament using hot glue.
