Hi everyone, thanks so much for stopping by today! I have a fun project posted on the Sizzix blog today, and I have to admit, it's one of my favorites. I have been a lover of old vintage village homes for as long as I can remember. I have a several different villages from Dept 56, to old plastic lighted villages, that I love to display, as well as a small glittered house I made myself several years ago. But this little glittered cottage had me grinning from ear-to-ear as it was coming together, because there is just something so sweet and nostalgic about this little glittered cottage.
I used Brenda Walton's new "Country Cottage 3-D" die, and even though it looks like it took a long time to construct, it was actually quite simple. The die comes with a full instructional sheet, which makes assembling this little beauty, quick & fun!
The only thing I added to the cottage was a small bottle brush tree, and a small section of a white picket fence.
Since this cottage is the only "house" in her collection right now, I was inititally going to make this into an ornament, because it's the perfect size, but decided to just leave it for now as is.
I did however, add a small battery powered tea light to the middle of it. I did that by not glueing on the roof, and here it is with the "light's on"! :)
So would you like to know how I made this? There's a step-by-step tutorial for you on the Sizzix blog. Just click here!! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and Happy Thanksgiving to you all!! :)
