Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by again today. I have a sweet nautical project for you today using the newest collection by Authentique Paper, called "Anchored". This has got to be one of my most favorite collections...I just love the patterns and colors of this collection. It's just perfect for layouts, cards and altered projects. For my project this month, I decided to create the symbol of all nautical symbols, the Lighthouse. When SVG Cuts released their newest collection, "Seaside" and found that a Lighthouse was front and center... I found my inspiration!! I hope you enjoy!
I am lucky to live by one of the last few remaining, (and working) lighthouses in Jupiter Florida, and every time I see it, it just exudes long summer days, sun tanning, coconut oil, sand, sun and water. There is something so special and nostalgic about an old lighthouse.
At the bottom of my lighthouse, I propped a couple of re-sized surfboards from the SVG Cuts collection, "Beach Bum II" along with a creepy crab, and white picket fence, flower and a "lighthouse" sticker.
On the bottom of the other side, I added another snippet of a picket fence, a flower and a very appropriate "crab" sticker, (from the the "Anchored" collection of course).
The windows are vellum...so when you pop the top off, slip in a battery operated tea light, and you've got a working lighthouse.
How fun would this Lighthouse be as the centerpiece of a nautical themed party? Or even as a vignette on a small table with lobster netting, starfish and other delights? At 15 1/2 inches, it's sure to make a statement.

I simply LOVE this project. I hope you are inspired to try one of your own.
Thanks for stopping by today. :)
