Here are my softies...
I got so carried away with these adorable dies, that I created three softies for my projects this month, along with a sweet little card featuring the pocket die which can be used to house a gift card.
I love these, they are so much fun to make. I decided to use a blanket stitch along with a straight stitch to stitch my softies. I have always loved the look of a blanket stitch on little stuffed toys, and it worked just perfectly on my softies.
For the koala bear and the little red fox, I used a scrap piece of fluff trim and cut it using the oval die that accompanies the kit. Since they're softies, I had to add a soft belly.
My daughter couldn't wait for me to photograph these, she claimed the fox as her own. :) How cute are those cool shades also? You'll love the accessories that come with the kit.
Using the pocket die again, I added a pocket to the backs of the softies, and you can use these for gift cards, a tooth fairy pocket, hold a little tag, just about anything your heart fancies.
The card is just a sweet little pocket card with a bunny face added along with pink ears and a star button was added. The pocket is open so slip in a gift card or a fun little note and your recipient will love it.
Here is a diagram on how to create a blanket stitch, for those that like the look but have never tried it. You can start anywhere on your softie, and just work your way around. There's no perfect place to start, and when you are finished just tuck the ends into the softie. I'm so happy I chose to use this stitch. It's one of the easiest to learn so try it, you'll love it!
I hope you've enjoyed my projects today! These softies will warm your heart and it's impossible not to smile while creating these.
This kit will go on sale on May 1, at 10pm EST!
Thank you so much Erin for creating yet another amazing, and super sweet kit to create with.
Softies RULE! ;)
